Accera is a private biotechnology company engaged in the discovery and development of novel therapeutic products for neurodegenerative diseases.  We are developing a pipeline of preclinical and clinical drug candidates for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases. Accera’s pipeline is based on our proprietary neuronal energy metabolism platform. Our research department discovers, synthesizes and screens new chemical entities for therapeutic activity in metabolic pathways.

 

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support activities aimed at developing assays and analyzing models of neurodegenerative diseases to advance our therapeutic candidates. The successful candidate will use a variety of techniques to develop assays and assess the therapeutic potential of pipeline compounds. Experience with in vitro and in vivo models and attention to detail is necessary.

 

Education/Experience

The following are essential:

-  BS degree with at least three full years of directly relevant lab experience;
-  Extensive hands-on experience with a range of in vitro and in vivo manipulations and techniques,       including; ELISA, animal dosing, assay screening, pharmacokinetics, cell culture;
-  Demonstrated skills at designing, performing and interpreting experiments;
-  Quick learner who is open to collaboration and training in new areas;
-  Strong analytical ability, problem solving, and organization skills;

The following are desired:

-  Knowledge of neurodegenerative disease models;
-  Knowledge of metabolic pathways;
-  Experience in molecular biology, biochemistry or metabolism;
-  Experience with assay development a significant advantage.
